Open Talamh is built with help from people all over Ireland. You don’t need any technical skills to take part. If you know something about who owns a piece of land, we want to hear it.
What you can send
Anything that helps show who owns or controls land, for example:
- a Land Registry folio or deed (PDF or photo)
- a photo of a site, a sign or a noticeboard
- a planning file, a newspaper cutting or a local history source
- a place on the map you think we’ve missed, or got wrong
- a tip about a parish, order, trust or State body
Send it to us
Please read the privacy and personal data notice below before you send anything.
You can send a message and upload files through the form, or email us directly. Everything sent in is checked before it goes on the map and given a confidence grade (see Method). We’ll credit you by name if you want, or keep you anonymous.
Use the form
Open the form in a new page if it doesn’t load here.
Or email us
Send whatever you have, with files attached, to opentalamh@proton.me.
Privacy and personal data
Please do not send personal data about private individuals. That means no names, addresses, phone numbers, photos of people, or details of anyone’s health, family or finances. If a document names a private person, cover or blank out their details before you send it. Open Talamh maps organisations, not people.
- We keep what you send (text, files and locations) so we can check it against public records. Your name and email are optional. We only use them to contact you about your submission and, if you ask, to credit you.
- Emails go to the project inbox (Proton Mail). Submissions through the online form are stored by our form provider (Tally) and forwarded to the same inbox. They are not published as they are. Only checked facts about organisations go on the map.
- We keep submissions for as long as they are needed to check and source the map, and delete personal details we don’t need.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you’ve sent, or have something removed from the site, by emailing opentalamh@proton.me.
For developers and data people
The code and data are open on GitHub. You can open an issue to report a data problem or suggest a source, or send a pull request.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, tell us using the form or email above and we will check it and correct it promptly. We map organisations, never private individuals.
